About

Alexander has been a storyteller all his life.

More than that he has committed some of his words to books. He was known as a teacher that lived out of a  spontaneous imagination and brought colour to all that he did. He is the father of six boys and each has brought a new chapter his life.

His first published and illustrated book was Humbert Bear about a bear that spends most of his short life sleeping but who has a rich and abundant inner life that he shares with others. It is a metaphor that illuminates life in a children' s hospice.

He went on  to write and illustrate his version of Homer's Odyssey that he has used corporately to look at issues of meaningful work today in a world or choice and challenge as well as it being a good yarn in and of itself.

His most recent illustrated book is called “This one elephant” and is it is about what happens to an elephant  in search of a purpose that allows himself to get distracted by wild birds who have a different  purpose altogether.

Alexander lives, writes and illustrates in Edinburgh, Scotland.
